BP’s project included a ‘proof of concept’ and demonstrated an industrial scale CO2 system with green power generation.

Solution

The project utilised CO2 flood to maximise the economic recovery of further hydrocarbons from the Miller field and contribute to organisational capability in upstream CO2 engineering and operations. Part of the project was to reuse the Millar pipeline between St Fergus and the Millar field. Penspen’s scope was to assess the feasibility of this.

Result

The project provided a highly reliable and assured system to store all of the CO2 produced by DF1 in Miller reservoir.
