Project Background

Our client, a leading international oil and gas company, operates a Gas plant in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and has a range of current and future projects planned to maintain and enhance production from the various facilities. Recently, Penspen was awarded a two-year Master Service Agreement (MSA) for the provision of engineering services to support these developments and supplement our client’s existing Operations Engineering team.

Services

Led by Penspen’s Middle East engineering team, the team will deliver a wide range of technical engineering services over the next two years. These include concept design, feasibility studies, front-end engineering design (FEED), and detailed design, all provided on a call-off basis and packaged according to the client’s specific requirements. With a focus on cost efficiency, quality, and safety, Penspen’s extensive experience in similar projects will be utilised to deliver tailored, fit-for-purpose engineering solutions that align with industry standards and client objectives, to ensure optimal value across all call-off orders over the next two years.

Result

Under this MSA, our client will be supported in the development of the natural gas assets in the Kurdistan region of Iraq, which will deliver significant economic and social benefits to the Kurdistan region and Iraq.

The gas produced from various facilities will address domestic gas shortages, primarily for power generation, while reducing reliance on heavy fuel oil for industrial users. This will provide a stable and abundant fuel source for Iraq’s electricity supply, providing significant cost savings for the Kurdistan Regional Government by switching from diesel to natural gas for power plants. This transition will also deliver environmental benefits through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions as a result of the switch in power generation fuel source.

Arun Behl, Director of Sales & Marketing for the Middle East & Africa: of the Framework Agreement (FWA) with a leading international oil and gas company in Kurdistan is a significant milestone, demonstrating the strength of our longstanding partnership and the trust placed in our expertise. This renewal highlights Penspen’s consistent performance in delivering high-quality engineering and Asset Integrity pipeline solutions tailored to meet the evolving needs of our clients.”
