Supporting UK Hydrogen Week 2024
As proud members of North West Hydrogen Alliance (NWHA), we are delighted to support Hydrogen Week 2024. Explore our latest hydrogen projects, studies, and innovations, and learn how Penspen is contributing to a cleaner energy future for all through hydrogen.
Hydrogen Week has been created by the North West Hydrogen Alliance (NWHA) – one of the foremost and largest regional hydrogen alliances in the UK, covering industry, academia, and government. Hydrogen Week 2024 is a momentous gathering, uniting stakeholders nationwide to champion hydrogen’s role in achieving net zero and providing clean energy for homes, businesses, and transport networks.
Our Hydrogen Related Projects
————————————
We’ve worked on over 15,000 projects in over 100 countries around the world and tackled almost every conceivable challenge in the industry. Explore a selection of our related Hydrogen projects and studies below.
1GW Low Carbon Hydrogen Project - Europe
Our Scope of Work:
Provide complete engineering and consenting expertise for the UK’s first large-scale hydrogen production hub, which will produce (in its initial phases) 1.35GW of hydrogen capacity (more than enough to power a city like Liverpool) and capture some 2.5 million tonnes of carbon per annum (equivalent to taking 1.1 million cars off the roads).
Green Hydrogen Production Facility for a Gas Processing Plant - Europe
Our Scope of Work:
From hydrogen technology assessment – to battery limit cost estimations – to detailed conceptual engineering design. Find out how Penspen supported a gas processing plant in Eastern Europe construct a safe and efficient green hydrogen production facility.

Learn MoreDigital Solutions for Hydrogen
Developed as part of our ongoing commitment to digital transformation and energy transition, Penspen’s cloud-based digital software solution, THEIA, has been equipped with a Hydrogen Toolkit to provide critical insights into the influence of hydrogen on existing or new pipelines.
With THEIA, you can:
- Assess the energy capacity of a pipeline based on new or repurposing infrastructure and the impact of revised operating pressures and velocity restrictions.
- Calculate wall thickness or maximum allowable operating pressures based on hydrogen-compatible materials and location class.
- Assess the impact of hydrogen on remaining life.
- Assess the impact on societal and individual risks and compare these with natural gas operations.
- Understand the latest hydrogen-related standards and practices through our technical/e-learning library.
