Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS): What are the real challenges and costs?

As the world gradually transitions to a low carbon economy, technologies such as Carbon

The requirement for efficient and long-term Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) facilities is well understood.

A number of countries and operators are leading the way in deploying CCUS technology as a medium-term instrument to decarbonise our energy supplies.

Hard-to-abate industries are looking at CCUS as a more substantial tool for decarbonisation.

CCUS offers the opportunity for Net Zero fast-wins across a range of industries.

NETWORKING

Gastech 2023 allowed for the meeting of minds from all over the energy industry. With a variety of exhibition stalls and conferences, there was ample opportunity to network and mingle with clients, partners, and colleagues across the industry.

EXHIBITION AND CONFERENCE

The Exhibition and Conference covered Hydrogen, Climatetech, Shipping and Marine, and Country Pavillion sectors, exploring all that Natural Gas has to offer. Conferences were divided into Advisory, Technical, Commercial, and Strategic.

CLIMATETECH

Gastech’s dedicated Climatetech conference worked to find solutions to decarbonise the entire energy value chain. It bought together industry experts to showcase the latest solutions, services, and technologies that will have a role to play in addressing climate change.

At Climatetech, Penspen Principal Consultant Toby Chancellor-Weale presented a well-received paper on “Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage (CCUS): What are the real challenges and costs?

KNOWLEDGE SHARING

A range of topics were highlighted at the various conferences and exhibition stands at Gastech, including  carbon capture, direct air capture, carbon movement and storage systems, as well digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, analytics, remote sensing, and geographic information systems. Industry experts shared knowledge on these subjects, working together to generate ideas and solutions for the future.
